CrockPot Barbecue Beef Ribs

Day 35.

Why is barbecue sauce spelled with a "C" when the abbreviation is "BBQ?" That makes no sense.
It should be barbeQue.
I think we should take a stand.

I don't eat many ribs. I don't like to have messy fingers and I don't like to have to floss immediately after (or during) a meal. But I love barbecue sauce, and I love the chewy, meaty flavor of good ribs.

So about once a year I give in and make them. I've only made them in the oven once, and I did it on a very low setting and cooked them in foil for about 3 1/2 hours. They were tender and juicy and fell off the bone.

But then I tried them in the crockpot and haven't gone back to the oven. I only wish we had a dog for all these bones.

edited 10/13/10: sometimes I say things just because they pop in my head, and for no other reason. I was alerted by a vet that bones such as this are actually NOT good to give to dogs. I'm so glad to know this, because I was under the misimpression that it was fine. It's always better to be safe than sorry!:
Love your recipes but have to object to one statement you made in the BBQ ribs recipe about giving your dog the bones. Dogs should not be given cooked bones of any kind at any time and should never be given flat bones like rib bones at any time whether cooked or uncooked. Uncooked long bones are fine if the dog is supervised. Thanks.
