Located on the 2nd floor of Hong Lim Food Centre, behind Chinatown Point. There is this stall at No. 41A at the end of a corner known as Tuck Kee (Ipoh) Sah Ho Fun. They offer a range of different combination ingredients of Ipoh Hor Fun and it’s always packed with long queue during lunch time hours.
So if you are craving for crayfish, prawns or even a plate of chicken hor fun with some decent prawn dumpling soup. Do drop by one of these day to Hong Lim Food Centre. To avoid the lunch hour queue you can either be early but not later than 2pm or else you might not be able to taste their Crayfish which is always SOLD Out during lunchtime.
Since I am working around Chinatown area, I used to patronise this stall with my colleague at least once a month. And today, I thought maybe I can bring my family along to try their signature dish but because we reached there quite late, the Crayfish set already being SOLD Out. But to avoid the disappointment, we settle for the "Prawn and Abalone Mushroom Hor Fun" which is just as nice as the Crayfish set.
Actually all their different Hor Fun sets still infused the same unique taste because of the serving gravy. The only different that you might find is on the topping ingredients, which is whether you prefer something seafood, chicken or mushroom. Since I can't get hold of the Crayfish Hor Fun last visit, today I ask my colleague come over for this Hor Fun so that I can do a post on this. We order the small plate of Crayfish & Prawn Hor Fun which costs $5.00(the price has increase twice since my 1st patronise in 2007 which is at S$4.00), which comes with 2 pieces of medium halved Crayfish, 6 pieces of halved medium size prawns, some freshly blanched choy sum placed that served on top of the hor fun. Before serving they will drizzle their special "Hor Fun Gravy" which makes every mouthful simply irresistible.
